教育:大学の学問には範囲がない。だから自分に向いた分野を見い出し、それを深く学んだ学生は充実感を味わえる。教育は今教えている分野の面白さを一人でも多くの学生が見い出させるように手助けすることだと考えている。
研究:生物系薬学では「なぜ?」で始まる基礎研究の対象が生・老・病・死という生命に関するものであり、 「どうすれば?」で始まる応用研究もまた生老病死を対象としている。実に身近であり、また深遠である。
